New Releases + May Tour
Spring is here and there will soon be all sorts of new Br'er paraphernalia for your consumption. First will be a cassette released by the wonderful Already Dead Tapes called Deviation, which is an EP of chamber arrangements from our tour last fall. Already Dead Tapes will also be releasing a split 7 inch between Br'er and Eskimeaux. Each band will cover a song from the other's band, so Eskimeaux will be doing "Emily the Bear" and Br'er will be doing "I Am a Sprial." Next, we will be doing a 2 week, midwest tour with our friends Forget the times in May as a four piece consisting of Benjamin Schurr, Darian Scatton, Gabrielle Smith and Jordin Goff. We will be announcing the dates for that sometime soon. Lastly, we will be releasing a digital 7 inch through the blog Everything is Chemical featuring two new songs and a cover of Throbbing Gristle's "Persuasion". FEEL GOOD. See the artwork for that above.

Black Friday EP
On our last tour we recorded a quick, mostly live, EP with our friend Nick Naioti of House Pride Records in Murfreesboro. It was released the same day as a free download from their website, which has since gone down, so Edible Onion has posted it in their distro section as a permanent archive. We've included the mp3s below:
01. The Kissing Glove [mp3]
02. City of Ice [mp3]
03. I've Forgotten Nothing [mp3]
04. Empathy [mp3]
For more information, see Edible Onion.

City of Ice Packaging + Downloads
Hey everyone! Seeing as City of Ice is being released this week, we are posting a picture of the final packaging (see above) and some mp3s from the album. The record cases are made using gel transfers on top of watercolor and acrylic washes. Inside the cases are gatefold sleeves with booklets containing photography and lyrics from the album. We are doing the first pressing of CDs with gel transfers in a run of 1000. Here are some songs from the album to check out:
You Go, We'll Stay Here [mp3]
Sea of Doubt [mp3]
City of Ice [mp3]
The album is currently available from Edible Onion.

So much news to choose!
Hello friends, it's been a while since there's been any word of ongoings in the world of Br'er, but this was just because we were saving it for one HUGE news blast. First off, A few months ago we released a split cassette with Scallion (Darian's project) on Edible Onion. Second, we did a live recording for the Violitionist Sessions in Denton where we did four songs. You can watch the videos and download them here. We did our cover of "Marked" by Gowns and a new track Called "You Go, We'll Stay Here." (Which brings me to our next bit o' news). We will be releasing our second LP City Of Ice on Edible Onion on November 22nd, at the tail end a month long fall tour. Check this page for confirmed dates. We will be posting details about the album shortly, but for now, you can see the cover below:

Why, hello there!
Things have been silent for the past few months on the Br'er front, but we assure you that 2011 will be an action packed year! First, there will be a Br'er/Scallion split cassette ep released on Edible Onion in early 2011. Scallion's side is a collection of newer material recorded intermittently over the past two years entitled Will-o'-Wisp and Br'er's side is a collection of unused songs from the City Of Ice sessions called Joy. That brings us to our next point: City Of Ice, our next full length. The album is finished and will be released most likely in mid-late 2011. We have just begun booking a spring tour to support our last split 12" with The Chord and the Fawn, as well as the new cassette. We will also have one semi-new member and one completely new member coming along for the ride: violinist Shaina Kapeluck and percussionist Jordin Goff. Finally, we just contributed a song to a wikileaks benefit compilation which is a previously unreleased version of "Have Mercy on my Soul" which you can d/l here. Please donate and support the cause, see you all in April!
